Camaguey

Camaguey is located on the east side of the country and its touristic city is Santa Lucia—a small city with only 4 resorts located on a public beach.

The beach is not one of the most beautiful in Cuba because there is a lot of algae despite the fact that the hotel staff cleans it every day. You can still definitely go sunbathing and do water sports.

If you go to Santa Lucia, go for excursions. There’s a lot of them and at very fair prices. The only excursion missing is the dolphins swim, but everything else is possible. For example, there is the crocodiles excursion where you’ll visit a crocodile farm. Camaguey is specialized in the reproduction of crocodiles to avoid their extinction. You will also get the chance to take a baby crocodile in your hands and feed the biggest ones (at a safe distance of course).

Another fun excursion to do is the visit of the iguana island. You will get to that island with a catamaran and if you are lucky, you will see some dolphins in their natural habitat. What a wonderful day! Make sure you bring your sunscreen!
