Granma

Granma is located east of Las Tunas and like it was also part of the province of Oriente. The largest tourist town is Bayamo, which is also the capital of the province.

Once upon a time this city was a commerce and trade center since it was rarely being attacked by pirates because it is located south of the island.

Thus, it also allowed people to more easily practice smuggling and contraband with other countries

If you visit Bayamo you should know that the whole town was once completely destroyed because of a fire during the war of independence. These days, Bayamo is a very pretty town where you will find some of the most beautiful palm trees of all Cuba.

Not a lot of tourists visit Bayamo, so if you do visit you’ll have the luxury to visit the city at your own pace.
